Possible definitions, explorations and interpretations of this theme:

• Dreaming while sleeping, a 'film' for your mind. (doctor, uses dreams as a medium to prevent her biggest fear)
• Life goals, a wish that one thinks will bring them happiness. (doctor, thinking that once she can use her dream methods on herself to fix herself, she can be happy) (crying man, wanting a peaceful and united underground city, with a whole family)
• Losing touch with reality, the lines blurring. (artist, whose black and white thinking has made her think she's trapped completely alone in a cave, and that all of the people around her are not human) (every (main) character, losing touch with their main goal. See blindness theme.)

Blindness

Possible definitions, explorations and interpretations of this theme:

• Literal blindness, being born without or losing the ability to see with your eyes.
• Blindness to others' behavioral change/true motive, being blind to parts of people. (artist, being blind to the fact that during childhood, everyone carried those ugly emotions, and during adulthood, that the human parts still exist alongside the ugly human parts.)
• Blindness to your own change and behavior. (artist, not seeing that she herself starts losing her humanity in order to protect her version of it.) (doctor, commiting selfish acts in order to prevent herself from commiting selfish acts again.)
